Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will undertake an aerial survey of flood-affected regions in the state on Saturday, August 1, to assess the extent of the damage and review ongoing relief operations.
The Chief Minister is scheduled to begin the survey at 10 a.m., covering the flood-hit districts of Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, and Keonjhar. Following the aerial inspection, he is expected to review the rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts being carried out by the administration.
Majhi, who recently returned from a four-day visit to New Delhi, had instructed the Chief Secretary, the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC), and other senior officials to closely monitor the flood situation and ensure that all necessary measures are taken to tackle the crisis effectively.
To strengthen the state’s response, the Chief Minister also deputed three senior IAS officers to oversee flood management and coordinate relief operations in Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jajpur districts.
Earlier, on Thursday, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari conducted an aerial survey of the affected areas in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, and Keonjhar. During his visit, he reviewed the ongoing rescue and relief measures and assessed the situation on the ground.
