Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu is likely to visit Odisha’s Ganjam district on August 4, with preparations reportedly underway ahead of the proposed one-day tour.
According to sources, the President is expected to visit the Taptapani Hot Spring, a popular tourist destination in the Sanakhemundi block of Ganjam district. She is also likely to interact with members of the local tribal communities during her visit.
Although there has been no official confirmation of the programme, senior district officials have begun reviewing security and logistical arrangements. Ganjam Collector Keerthi Vasan V, Ganjam SP Harisha BC, Berhampur SP Saravana Vivek M, along with other officials, visited Taptapani on Friday to assess security preparedness and other necessary arrangements.
Sources said the President’s itinerary is still being finalised, and further details regarding the visit are expected to be announced after official approval.
If confirmed, the visit will mark another significant engagement by President Murmu in her home state, with the proposed interaction with tribal communities expected to be a key highlight of the tour.
